To get an idea of what to expect and what is included in each of our service offerings, this page provides examples for each service on a “per dataset” basis for the simplest case. Customized solutions are always possible and image services are by default diverse, so these should be used as guideline only, personal quotations are made based on actual requirements.
This is a basic demo – including some images and a slice video to show important features inside the data, such as indications, flaws, or features of interest. This service allows you to get a professional but simple insight into your sample. It can be used as a first step prior to further in-depth analysis, or to evaluate basic sample properties. A basic demo includes the following:
In the scope of this service we can optimize the workflow and find a good image processing and analysis procedure applicable to your dataset – especially useful when planning to repeat the procedure or do it yourself later.
This involves some development of a reliable workflow optimized to your specific data. This can be used on many similar scans, or to develop a new approach to extracting required information. An example is shown for reliable porosity evaluation in a cube of additively manufactured metal. The method involves image processing by median-filtering the data to remove noise:
This is followed by segmentation of the pores using lower-Otsu thresholding (automated), followed by removing the exterior (air) and removing voids less than 8 voxels in size. The optimized method is best suited to the available data in terms of noise, image artifacts and so on. In cases when more noisy data is present, a different combination of image processing and segmentation tools may be necessary. Trust us and let us find the best solution for you.
Finally, the calculation of required values for each pore is made for statistical analysis and visualization, for example sphericity in the example below (red is more spherical, blue is less spherical):
A formal report including 3 images and description of the most important flaws or features of the part, or important information about the data as found in a basic demo – formal reporting and flaw identification is done according to NDT guidelines.
Outputs from this service include the same as the basic demo and a formal NDT report. View sample NDT report.
NOTE Does not include advanced analysis options such as defect analysis statistics, wall thickness, or more. Refer to Custom and Module Services for information about these options.
A part segmentation and mesh is generated. An example is shown below in images and downloadable STL file.

We take your dataset and make visually impressive images and videos, especially 3D but also advanced 2D options including thick slab mode, custom colors or color ranges, etc. Especially useful for presentations, or that last “cherry on top” of the project.
This service involves microCT scanning, with output ONLY the basic reconstructed dataset, we recommend “basic demo” routine service to add to:
This service is using the YXLON FF35 and will come online in a few months as soon as our system is installed and operational. Watch this space! Further advanced options will be available.
This includes de-noising, cropping, rotating and (if applicable) rescaling, calibrating or modifying the dataset as needed. This step is required for advanced analysis functions below but can be taken on its own and you get a clean dataset with no analysis. Simple material segmentation and volume fraction included.
Specific features are measured and images with these linear measurements are provided. An example is the hole diameter of each ring in the bracket, for example:
A porosity segmentation and analysis is performed, includes all defects in a spreadsheet as well as a 3D color-coded image and rotation video. Requires data clean-up prior to this step. This basic cost involves an automated thresholding and selected pore statistics including pore volume, surface area, sphericity, max Feret diameter (3D pore diameter).

A local wall thickness analysis is performed, includes thickness statistical information as well as a 3D color-coded image and rotation video.
Here we need a design file in STL format, we align it with the actual part and perform deviation analysis, highlighting major deviations as shown.
This is a simple summary report including a summary of the data extracted in steps or as required. Example is here: Summary Report (PDF file 785 KB).
Generating a mesh of the object or selected region of interest. Requires cleanup and segmentation steps.

Any other requirements can be handled with similar rates, roughly equivalent to hourly rates above, per sample. Often segmentation requires extra effort which can be performed and quoted according to the requirements.
We take your data and develop a deep learning model to assist you in further data processing and analysis tasks such as complex volume fraction segmentation and analysis in multiphase materials.
