Painting with the Region Tools

You use the Region tools to label pixels within regular and irregular shaped regions on regions of the interest and the selected class of a multi-ROI.

  Icon Description
Rectangle You use the Rectangle tool to draw rectangular-shaped areas.
  • Drag to shape and size the required region.
Ellipse You use the Ellipse tool to draw circular or oval-shaped areas.
  • Drag to shape and size the required region.
Polygon You use the Polygon tool to draw polygonal areas.
  • Click on a succession of points to define the contour of the region.
Freehand You use the Freehand tool to draw free-form areas.
  • Drag to define the required contour.
How to Paint with the Region Tools
  1. Select the required view.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select the region of interest that you want to label.
    • Select the multi-ROI class that you want to label.
  3. Select the required region tool — Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, or Freehand.
  4. Do the following:
    • Hold down Left Ctrl (or your configured Add with key) and then draw the required region. Pixels within the drawn area will be added to the selected region of interest or to the selected multi-ROI class when the Add with key is released.
    • Hold down Left Shift (or your configured Remove with key) and then draw the required region. Pixels within the drawn area will be removed from the selected region of interest or from the selected multi-ROI class when the Remove with key is released.
