Licenses

Licenses define the rights to use Dragonfly on designated equipment at a certain level of functionality. In addition, licenses can be perpetual or may be restricted to a specific period of time. For example, trial licenses sent for evaluation purposes, non-commercial licenses, and for annual and monthly subscriptions, are only valid until a given data. Each time the software runs, it checks for a valid license. If a valid license is found, the application will run with all of the licensed features.

The currently licensed features are listed in the System information box in the About dialog, shown below. Choose Help > About Dragonfly to open the dialog.

System information

You can purchase a commercial license for Dragonfly directly from our Online Store or you can request an Obligation-Free Quote. Refer to the topic Requesting Non-Commercial Licenses for information about how to request a non-commercial license.

The following table summarizes the standard and optional features that can be licensed for Dragonfly and Dragonfly Pro:

Dragonfly optional features

Description

Deep Learning

Includes the Deep Learning Tool, with which you can train deep models for image segmentation and regression tasks (see Deep Learning). Also included with this feature is the Segmentation Wizard, which provides an easy-to-use, guided workflow for implementing deep learning and classical machine learning segmentation of multi-dimensional images.

You should note that additional features, such as Segment with AI, will be limited to classical machine learning models without a license for Deep Learning.

Auto Process*

Enables real-time processing of serial section 2D stack experiments (see Auto Processing Image Stacks).

Bone Analysis

Is a pre-clinical research application designed for the evaluation of high-resolution micro-CT image data of bone specimens (see Bone Analysis).

Hyperspectral Image Analysis

Facilitates the interactive visualization, manipulation, and data analysis of hyperspectral image data (see Hyperspectral Image Analysis).

Image Stitcher

Provides automated and manual alignments to precisely combine, or stitch, overlapping 2D or 3D image tiles to create a single high-resolution image (see Image Stitching).

Organizer

Provides an easy way to organize, manage, and share your data and analysis results (see Dragonfly's Organizer).

Plug Analysis**

Provides a dedicated workflow for analyzing core plugs acquired from rock samples and other porous media.

Pro Features

A number of specific features, listed below, are available only for Dragonfly Pro.

  • Support for TXM (*.txm extension) and CZI (*.czi extension) file formats.
  • Manual RBF and Non-Local Means shading compensation filters.
  • Watershed transforms.
  • Split and merge connected components.
  • Computations of connected porosity.

Note Contact Object Research Systems for information about the availability of Dragonfly Pro, which is distributed exclusively by ZEISS Microscopy.

* Standard for non-commercial Dragonfly licenses and Dragonfly Pro, which is distributed exclusively by ZEISS Microscopy.
** Optional for commercial and non-commercial Dragonfly licenses.

The optional features listed above, except for Plug Analysis, are bundled with non-commercial licenses and do not require any additional activation keys.
